Our 9-Step Window Installation Process

Renewal by Andersen® of Central Pennsylvania delivers premium window installation services. To help you better understand how our business works, here is a rundown of our nine-step window installation process.

Step 1: Custom Measurement

Since all of our replacement windows are custom-made, we will visit your home and take precise measurements of your existing window openings. We’ll also take notes of other details that could impact installation, such as your window casing and frame.

Step 2: Window Manufacturing

Once we get your measurements, we’ll send these details to our production facility in Minnesota, which starts fabricating your new windows. Our crew guarantees your new windows fit your specific standards discussed before production.

Step 3: Installation

Next, we’ll schedule the date to have your new windows installed. When installation day comes, our installers arrive early with your new units, packaged with care.

Step 4: Precautionary Measures

We are committed to protecting your home from damage during the installation process. Before getting to work, our crew will remove all your furniture from the installation site and place drop cloths on items we can’t move. As an added precautionary measure, our crew members wear protective masks and foot gear.

Step 5: Removing Your Old Windows

Our team is trained to remove your old windows with as little dust and debris as possible. Once removed, we’ll dispose of your old windows properly, recycling anything that can be reused.

Step 6: Installing Your New Window

Because of our measurements (see above), your windows fit your openings like a glove. We remove and install your windows one at a time. We also place your windows complementary hardware, like pulleys if they’re double hung windows, during this phase.

Step 7: Plugging the Gaps

We’ll apply insulating foam in the gaps between your new window frame and the wall to create an airtight seal. Our installers guarantee a weatherproof, energy-efficient experience with your new window.

Step 8: Finishing Touches

After applying the insulation, we’ll use exterior trim to conceal it. This trim can be designed to complement your home’s design. We will also conduct a final inspection of your windows to ensure everything has been completed flawlessly. This includes a test of the window’s operation.

Step 9: Clean Up

After everything is done we’ll give you a quick tutorial on how your windows works. Our installers will then clean up the area so you can focus on enjoying your new replacement windows.
