It’s finally that time of the year when the trees are blooming, the grass is growing and the mercury in the thermometer is edging upwards every day. Even if you don’t relish the thought of mowing your lawn on a regular basis, you have to admit that springtime is one of the most exciting and inspiring times of the year.
Along with the tradition of spring cleaning, many homeowners like to decorate the interiors and exteriors of their properties to add a bit of class, charm and elegance to their homes. Whether you have a cozy Cape Cod or a contemporary A-frame, you can find the perfect wreaths and flowers to show off your house.
Spring Wreath Ideas for the Crafty
If you’re even remotely crafty, you can make a bunch of spring wreaths out of items you either have around your home or can easily get at a local supply house, such as:
- Artificial flowers and greenery wrapped or otherwise secured around wreath-shaped foam or wire.
- Older papers or pages from books that have been cut into small shapes and then hot-glued onto a wreath shape.
- Bright fabric, bows and buttons wrapped around a piece of foam.
- Sticks that have been hot-glued into the shape of a wreath. Artificial birds or other natural ornaments can be added for a pretty, springy touch.
- Corks from wine bottles can be used to create a large or small wreath to be hung outside or on a picture window.
Flower Décor in a Snap
If you’re not interested in adding flower décor to the interior of your home, no problem! You can accentuate your gorgeous bay or bow window sill, or any other surface in your residence, with some beautiful seasonal flowers.
Some popular spring flower choices include:
- Tulips or lilies in a rustic-looking watering can or delicate vintage vase.
- Wildflowers in a window box either outside or inside.
- An herb garden planted in a variety of colorful clay pots.
- Daffodils in clear glasses, drinking glasses or canning jars!
Of course, it’s always best to use your imagination. It’s tough to go wrong when you’re mixing and matching some of the most incredible offerings that nature gives us during this transformative time of year. Stop and smell the roses — don’t forget to plant some, too!
