Step 2: Your Windows are Custom Made

Step 3: Installation Day Arrives!

Once your windows are constructed and delivered to Renewal by Andersen of Central Pennsylvania’s facility, we’ll contact you to schedule an installation date that is convenient for you. Most installations take just one day. Our installation team will arrive promptly and ready to work, with all of your windows and the tools – and experience – necessary to do the job right!

Step 4: Protecting Your Home

While we are working both inside and outside on your new windows, we want to be sure the rest of your home is protected. We’ll carefully remove all furniture and valuables that may be in the way, and cover any outside shrubbery. Plus, each of our team members wears protective footwear covers to ensure we don’t make a mess.

Step 5: Removing Your Old Windows

Once your home is prepared for work to begin we’ll undertake the task of removing your old windows. We do all that we can to keep dust, debris and noise to a minimum. Your old windows will be removed from the site and properly disposed of, including recycling any materials we can.

Step 6: Installing Your New Windows

Because they are custom made your new windows can be installed pretty quickly. If your window opening requires leveling or adjustment we get that done for you to make sure your windows fit snugly, with no cracks or gaps. Once installed we test all functions of a window to ensure that sashes slide easily, locking mechanisms are aligned, and casement opening mechanisms turn properly.

Step 7: Sealing Gaps

Depending on the nature of your home’s exterior siding, a small gap may between your new windows and the house frame. Our installers fill this with special insulating foam to eliminate any drafts. We want to ensure your replacement windows are airtight, weatherproof, and energy efficient.

Step 8: Finishing Touches

We make sure the interior and exterior trim of your new windows is property aligned and seated, and that any insulating foam is not visible. We’ll also remove the protective film that covers the panes of glass in your new windows.

Step 9: Final Clean Up

Our final task is cleaning our work area, shining the glass on your new windows, and replacing your furniture to its proper place. Then we’ll give you a “tour” of how your new windows function to make sure you are ready to enjoy them to the fullest! Enjoy!
